CAWSS :: Custom Website

I had the opportunity to design & build this site a while back, but recently they had me add some of their products to the site. They decided to use paypal to accept credit card payments securely. I highly recommend paypal { for products and/or services }… it has a lot of pros and haven’t come across too many cons. { PAYPAL Pros : very user-friendly, easy to set up buttons, secure, no ssl certificate required, no merchant visa acct required, they take care of the credit card numbers so that you don’t have to have that responsibility, first level has no monthly fee and a low per transaction percentage, I know there are more… }

Anyway… check out the site here CAWSS. And if you are interested in a custom website or adding paypal to your site I would be happy to give you a custom estimate. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Matthew 25

I recently had the opportunity to work with Matthew 25. They are all about helping & meeting the physical needs of people and showing them who Jesus is, He is good, faithful, full of grace, He loves each one of us just as we are. Matthew 25.40 says… I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me. — These folks are doing a lot for Jesus! They wanted a site that would be informative of how others can get involved to help our ‘neighbors’, but making sure they show the heart of their ministry which is the people they can & do help.

I think we came up with the perfect site. It is a custom designed WordPress Site… that way they have all the wonderfulness of wordpress, but a custom Bb site design that sure does stand out from the crowd. {A little bit of that WP wonderfulness = CMS (Content Management System – they can login and update or add new pages), blog or latest events, plugins galore}. Taking it to the next level we added a transitioning slideshow showing the people of the ministry.

Check out their site {http://www.25matthew.org}.

Red Rooster Trading Company

Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to have a shop. What would that shop have in it? Cards :), hand made stuff… but not the crafty stuff that you regift or put on a shelf and never think about again. I wanted to have stuff that would be cool, beautiful… yes mainly decorative, but that you would be excited to display in your home. And of course there is the idea that things being handmade in the USA is a good thing.

Well, recently Justin & I have had this great opportunity presented to us! Out of the blue a dear friend of ours, a lot of you might know him as Nate, contacted us with a proposition. The first emotion was excitement… what fun… Justin could take care of the hand.built part, I could handle the design & marketing and ‘they will come’, right? :) Well… we were still excited, but it took us a little longer to take care of the details and there were more of them than expected. We finally got our end of it figured out and viola! Red Rooster Trading Company was born.

Justin is now in the shop quite a bit building ‘The Camano Coffee Mill’ & ‘The Mabana Pepper Mill’ and I have had such fun in building the logo, website & some online ads. Nate has been so patient and kind in training us in the biz. We are keeping the same ‘hand.crafted quality’ of the original Mills and we have some ideas up our sleeves for some other hand.built goods. And not only are these mills cool, beautiful, they actually work and work well. The Camano Coffee Mill will make your morning cup even better! We have even had several orders for each, yahoo!

You know that saying? ‘Things just aren’t built the way they used to be’ — well our goal with Red Rooster Trading Company is to ‘make things the way they used to’. Missouri is known for its quality hardwood. We travel North of us to Amish country to hand.pick the hardwood that is used for the mills. A food-grade stain is used to finish the wood so you don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals. Justin builds each mill with care. And have you seen them? They would look great anywhere! Even if you don’t drink coffee you will want to get one of your own for display.

You might have noticed while reading, but we are still really excited and can hardly wait to get some other things added to the shop. Check out the pics below of the logo and website. And be sure to check the store often for our latest arrivals. You can also find Red Rooster on facebook here {http://www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Rooster-Trading-Company-Handbuilt-Goods/108355095853363} and visit the site here {www.redroostertradingcompany.com}

Thanks so much for stopping by! And come again soon…

On a side note: Nate had actually hired me a couple years ago to do some of his marketing materials… logo, mailers, labels & online ads for Camano Coffee Mills. What fun!

Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce

It is finally here! The Memphis {Missouri} Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) website! I met with the chamber in the spring to talk about what they need in a website. We kept it simple to start out with and can add more later as they grow and see what is needed. That is a good thing about website design, as long as you have a good foundation it is easy to add more later–whether it is more pages or a special feature (i.e. blog, photo gallery, calendar etc.). I also designed the logo used in the website. It will be a fun one to use on other promotional materials too.

If you are a small business owner and in the Memphis, Missouri area you should consider becoming a member. MACC encourages economical growth in the area and is a big supporter of small business. There are some great benefits as well… not only will you have an online presence, but if you already have a website you receive a link from MACCs site to yours.

{Bb secret: links coming into your site are a great way to promote search engine rank. How to get links into your site: join your local chamber :), trade links with other local businesses, use google to find other places that pertain to your biz that you can join and get a listing, these are just a few ways…}

Check out the site {www.memphismochamber.com} to see how you can become a member and to see all the good things going on.  MACC not only encourages local business, but they do a lot to reach out and offer ‘family friendly’ events in the community.  Don’t tell too many people, but Memphis, Missouri is a great place to live. And keep checking back for new additions… this is only the beginning!

Custom Cabinetry Website Design

This guy can build some amazing cabinets. It was so much fun to design a site to show off Bob Gibson’s (my dad!) amazing cabinets. He uses all wood construction and the best hardware, so that your drawers & doors not only work well, pull out smoothly, but last! And really! Do you understand that this is art?! Wow… check out some of DMC’s kitchens. I would think that you might just want to live in the kitchen Dove Mountain Cabinetry designs & builds for you!

I am so excited to say that I will be having DMC build my kitchen cabinets very soon! Check out their site to see some of the kitchens DMC has gotten to design & build! {www.dovemountaincabinetry.com} And don’t hesitate to call (509-923-2949) or email to get the kitchen, bathroom, entertainment center … that you have only been able to imagine til now!

the Bb website.

These are screen shots of the Bb site… I have always wanted to use a cool, old book for the base of my site. It was a little tricky to mix print with web, but I think all the hard work and thought was well worth the effort.

The world of websites is such an ever-changing world and we strive to provide our clients with the best! both visually and with the functionality of a site, all the while keeping our prices competitive. After all Britta burrus design is a small business too and understands the value of the marketing dollar! Check out the site {www.brittaburrus.com} and let us know what you think.

If you {or someone you know} is in need of a website that stands out from the crowd please call (509)429-1989 or email for custom estimate.

the website.

Do your website visitors STAY or CLICK AWAY? One of the most important pieces of your marketing package is the website. This is where most of the world will go to find out more about your business. Who you are, what you do, references & how seriously you take your business. You can use your print materials to give a taste of what your business is about and entice the potential client to check out your website where they will get the full meal deal.

Even though you want to give more details about your business through your website you don’t want to bore your visitors with too much. Keep it short, sweet and to the point. And always remember that a picture really does say a thousand words. (I may have to dedicate an entire blog about the importance of imagery. It is great to meet a client who realizes the importance of their images and who is willing to invest in that part of their package. )

The initial cost of a website is what catches people off guard. But keep in mind that once the professional, branded website for most businesses is up it will last quite a while with only minor updates to think about. Your business website is not the area to cut your marketing cost. The whole world has the potential to see it and you want them to know how seriously you take your business & that you will also take their potential business seriously.  I have heard over and over again from different folks that if they come across a site that is mostly text and not just that, but very ‘homemade’ they just leave right away, thinking that whoever put the site up is not trustworthy & they don’t take their business seriously.

That being said… I would love to hear your comments or experiences with different websites. What do you appreciate in a business website you are visiting and what makes you  STAY and want more or CLICK AWAY to a different site?

Check out the Bb portfolio {www.brittaburrus.com/port.html} of websites & more.  The goal of Britta burrus design is for their clients’ sites  to stand out from the crowd, be user-friendly, easy to find what the visitors are looking for and brand! brand! brand! their business.

If you (or someone you know) are in need of a website, whether for your business or even a personal site, feel free to call (509) 429-1989 or email with questions or to get started!

Come back soon & I will share some secrets on how to tell if the visitors of your website STAY or CLICK AWAY!
